Ezekiel 37:7-10 says: So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
One of my all-time favorite movies is Do the Right Thing, a Spike Lee film that came out in the late 1980s. There was a scene where three men, played by the late Robin Harris, the late Paul Benjamin, and Frankie Faison, were in front of a red brick building; and they sat in chairs under a large umbrella in order to block the sun because it was extremely hot outside. A patrol car drove by, and a staring contest ensued amongst the five men before the officer riding shotgun said: “What a waste.” The police officers drove away, and the three had an interesting dialogue afterward. Paul Benjamin’s character had made an observation about the Korean grocery store that was across the street and made the statement either the Koreans were geniuses for starting businesses after being fresh off of the boat, or that his two counterparts were dumb for not being able to start their own businesses. Frankie Faison’s character countered by saying that it must be because we’re Black, and Robin Harris’ character basically said that it’s no excuse why Black people are in the condition that they’re in and won’t do anything about it. Robin Harris then said that he would continue to support foreign businesses in their neighborhood and also pointed out to Paul Benjamin that he got off the same boat before he went across the street to buy a beer.
That two-and-a-half-minute exchange was one of the most important scenes in the movie because it summed up our entire existence here in this country, as America is the Valley of Dry Bones. Those three men represented the Southern Kingdom or Tribe of Judah, which are the tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and Levi and who are the so-called African Americans, Jamaicans, and Haitians respectively. I wonder if Spike Lee intended to depict the Southern Kingdom in that fashion or if it was merely a coincidence. Nevertheless, we’ve been under the Deuteronomy 28 curses and have been at the bottom of society for over four hundred years.
We knew who we were as a people before the Renaissance period, but we were cut off as a nation since then and were in hardcore slavery until 1865 pursuant to Psalms 83. We were a perpetual underclass and were in a mentally and spiritually dead state for 3½ years parabolically according to Revelation 11:11, which is in actuality 350 years. Prior to the LORD putting the Spirit of Life into us in the late 1960s and early 1970s, which is the knowledge and understanding of the Bible, we were a downtrodden people, and we were collectively viewed as the scum of the Earth and every negative stereotype known to man―bums, alcoholics, whores, thieves, liars, criminals, drug addicts, pimps, prostitutes, and drug dealers. There was no hope as we were in a constant fear of death due to police brutality, drive-by shootings, or carjackings; as America is also known as the Valley of the Shadow of Death stated in Psalms 23:4.
However, once the vision that Ezekiel had thousands of years ago came to fruition in modern day America, those dry bones came together and flesh came upon them, metaphorically speaking. The Gospel is like flowing waters that cleanse the soul as these dry bones represent the elect or remnant of Israel. This is known as the Great Awakening, and this miraculous revival of the Hebrew Israelite nation has the other nations in great fear because we’ve learned that we’re the people of the Lord and are standing on our feet to form this great spiritual army. This is a future prophecy that also implies that the reincarnation of Ezekiel would be preaching the Word in the latter days. All praise, honor, and glory go to Yahawah Bahasham Yahawashi.
